Justifications:
The setting of The Knife Of Never Letting Go is an odd one to convey. The time is in the future, but on a planet similar to the past on Earth. To convey some sort of alien nature we aimed for a reddish dirt road like Mars and the two moons of the planet in the sky. Todd and company are also seen as outsiders, so no one is with them in the town, instead peering from the windows.
The noise was a must-have on the cover as it is a major aspect of the book.
